Editorial Honest Ulsterman June 2015 issue

Welcome to the June issue of the HU.

Editorial

Hello again. Welcome to the June issue of the HU. In terms of content it's probably our biggest online so far. We have interviews with up-and-coming and established poets. There's features on poetry from at home and abroad including fascinating articles on Indian women poets writing in English and the Mexico City literary environment amongst others. We have explorations of the work of David Park, Seamus Heaney and particular favourites of mine Richard Brautigan and Sheridan le Fanu as well as contemplation of what it means to be a poet by Tara Bergin and Brian Kirk. Not to mention our open submission contributions. We've introduced video poems into this issue with powerful contributions from Dave Lordan and Dylan Brennan. You may be not familiar with Young-Hae Chang Heavy Industries but their approach to digital poetry is worth investigating. The HU always had contemporary art integrated into it so we're continuing with that tradition with our featured artist being Irina Popova (APT779 image above) and examinations of the work of Kelly Richardson and Anne Tallentire. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this issue. We couldn't do it without you. Our next one will be out late October. Greg McCartney, Editor.
